Getting to know Aaron and the team at INTINCT Studio while on the Creative UK Devon Cohort, last year was a real eye-opener to meet and get to know a new and refreshing clothing brand. We got the opportunity to collaborate and do a shoot together and it was a fascinating challenge. It wasn’t just about capturing fashion—it was about creating an immersive visual experience, where the past and future collided in striking imagery. INSTINCT, a trailblazing fashion house devoted to supporting up-and-coming artists through bold, collaborative streetwear, unveils its latest innovation: Collection by Architects—a fusion of visionary design and cutting-edge craftsmanship.
The location of The Box – Plymouth itself was steeped in history. Old, worn textures contrasted sharply with the sleek, avant-garde designs we were showcasing. That tension—the dialogue between periods—became a core element of the shoot.
Lighting played a crucial role. Shadows stretched, highlights intensified, and every shot carried a mood, an emotion. Nothing was accidental. The models, chosen for their strong presence and individuality, understood that. They held their ground, engaged the lens, and told a story through posture and gaze.
As a photographer, the challenge was balance. Too much drama, and we’d lose the essence of the clothing. Too little, and the images wouldn’t evoke enough feeling. It was about subtlety, control, and knowing when to push boundaries.
The result? A clothing collection that doesn’t just showcase fashion—it demands attention, sparks conversation, and reflects INTINCT Studio’s fearless identity.
